When AWS is the better choice
If you need managed services at depth, multiple regions, compliance attestations we do not hold, or the ability to grow ten times without changing vendor, use AWS. If you have a platform team that already knows it, the cost of retraining them is almost certainly larger than anything you would save here. We would rather say that now than be found out at the proof of concept.
