Small business

Start with one product. Not with a platform.

Between five and forty people the stack is usually the same: TallyPrime on one machine in the accounts room, a shared Gmail inbox, a pipeline in a spreadsheet, and everything else on WhatsApp. It works, until one part of it quietly starts costing money. You do not need to replace all of it in a weekend. You need to fix that one part.

One product at a time

Nothing here needs the others to be useful. Each product is whole on its own, so you can run exactly one of them for a year and never open the rest.

Free to find out

Every product has either a free tier or a free trial that does not need a card. You are not asked for payment details to look around, and nothing starts charging on its own.

The second one is easy

When you do add another, it goes under the same account, the same login and the same wallet. Adding the second product is switching something on, not starting a new vendor relationship.

Where to start

Pick the symptom, not the category.

Four things go wrong first in a business this size. Each one has an obvious starting product, and all four of these are running today rather than planned.

Cash is stuck in receivables and nobody is chasing it

Tally already knows exactly who owes you what and for how long — the problem is that it knows it on one desktop. Comsky TallyBridge reads your existing TallyPrime data through a small Windows bridge and puts outstanding, ageing and cash flow on your phone, with one-tap reminders. You keep Tally. You just stop having to be in the room to see the number.

Deals fall through because nobody followed up

A spreadsheet has no memory of who promised to call back on Thursday. Comsky CRM holds the deal, the contact, the email thread and the next task on one record, so a follow-up that has not happened is visible instead of forgotten. Start with one pipeline and two people on it.

Nobody can say whether last night’s backup ran

If the answer to “when did we last restore something?” is silence, start here. Comsky Backup puts an agent on each machine and writes versioned copies into per-device encrypted storage that the machine itself has no permission to delete from — which is the part an external drive in a drawer cannot do.

The server bill arrives in dollars

A foreign cloud bill moves with the exchange rate and carries no GST you can claim cleanly. Comsky Cloud runs virtual machines, bare metal and NVIDIA GPU instances in Indian data centres, priced in rupees with GST already inside the number and no egress charge on the way out.

How it goes

The order that actually works.

This is the sequence we suggest to a business of this size, and it deliberately ends before you have bought anything you are not using.

01

Name the one thing

Pick the problem that cost you the most in the last quarter — money not collected, a deal lost to silence, a machine that died. One problem, one product.

  • ·Ignore the other products for now
  • ·If two things tie, take the one with money attached
02

Run it free, with real data

Use the free tier or the trial on your own records rather than a demo dataset. A week of your actual invoices or your actual pipeline tells you more than any walkthrough.

  • ·No card to start
  • ·Your data, not sample data
03

Wait until it stops hurting

Do not add the second product while the first one is still new. Add it when the first problem has gone quiet and a different one has become the loudest thing in the week.

  • ·Usually months apart, not days
  • ·No pressure to fill the suite
04

Keep one account underneath

The second product goes under the account you already have. Same login, same prepaid wallet, one more line on the same monthly GST invoice.

  • ·One invoice however many products you run
  • ·Stop any of them without touching the others
The arithmetic

Three ways to run a small business.

The first column is not a straw man. It is what most businesses this size are doing, and it is free, which is exactly why it is hard to leave.

Tally, inbox, spreadsheetNine separate tools Comsky
Cost of trying it Already paid for. That is the appeal.A card and a trial clock per vendor. Free tier or trial, no card.
Invoices each month None to reconcile.Several, some of them in dollars. One, in rupees, GST inside the number.
Adding the next tool Another file and another WhatsApp group.A new vendor, login and contract. Switch it on under the same account.
Who you call when it breaks Whoever set it up, if they still work here.A queue in another timezone. Us, in IST.
Where the data sits One desktop and a shared mailbox.Wherever each vendor keeps it. Indian data centres.
Leaving Painful, because it is all in one head.A notice period per contract. No minimum term. Stop and the metering stops.
Be careful what you plan around

Four are running. Five are not.

A business this size cannot afford to build a plan on software that does not exist yet, so here is the honest split.

Running today

Comsky Cloud, Comsky CRM, Comsky TallyBridge and Comsky Backup are live products with customers on them. Anything you decide this quarter should be built on these four.

Still being built

Comsky Books, Comsky HRMS, Comsky Telephony, Comsky Chat and Comsky Monitor are not available yet. Treat them as the reason the account you open now will still fit you later — not as part of this quarter’s plan.

Questions

What a ten-person business asks first.

Is it actually free to start, or free until the card is charged?

Every product has either a free tier or a free trial that does not need a card, and the Cloud console can be explored in full without signing up at all. The paid products draw from a prepaid wallet you top up yourself — there is no card on file quietly being charged, and no auto-renewal to cancel.

Do we have to leave Tally?

No, and TallyBridge exists precisely so you do not. It reads your existing TallyPrime data and syncs it to a secure cloud; Tally stays where you post entries and stays the source of truth. Comsky Books is the separate product for businesses that eventually want to move off it, and it is not available yet.

We are six people. Is any of this sized for us?

There is no seat minimum, no minimum commitment and no notice period on any product. CRM is billed per user, so six users cost six users. Backup is billed per protected machine, so three machines cost three machines.

What happens when we add a second product?

It goes under the same account tree and the same login, and it draws from the same wallet. At the end of the month you get one GST invoice with a line for each product rather than a second invoice from a second vendor.

Who supports us, and when?

We do, in IST. Comsky is built by Comhard, which has been selling, installing and supporting business software in India since 2001 — so support is people who have configured this kind of setup in this country before, not a ticket queue reading a script.

What if we try it and it is wrong for us?

Stop using it. There is no minimum term to run out, and the metering stops when the usage does. That is the whole reason we suggest starting with one product rather than a suite rollout.

Fix one thing this quarter.

Pick the product that matches what is costing you money right now. The others will still be here when you need them.

Free tier or free trial on every product. No card, no minimum term, one invoice.
