INSIGHTS · DASHBOARDS AND REPORTS

Three questions a sales report has to answer.

What is closing, what has stopped moving, and who is carrying the number. Everything else is decoration. Comsky CRM builds all three from the same records your team already works in — no separate reporting tool, no export into a spreadsheet, no month-end evening spent rebuilding last month’s sheet.

A demo workspace, not a customer’s. Every figure on this page comes from records the team entered while doing the work — which is the only reason a report is worth reading.

How a report is built

Object, measure, grouping, condition. Then save it.

Pick what you are counting, pick how you are counting it, pick what to split it by, and narrow it down. That is the whole builder. Six chart types ship — bar, line, area, pie, donut and funnel — and any of them saves onto a dashboard.

A workflow can chase the owner rather than the teamENROL IN SEQUENCE

The stalled list is the one report most teams never build, because building it by hand takes longer than the problem feels worth. It is the one that pays for the CRM.

What you can see

Six reports worth having on a wall.

Each of these is the builder with different settings. They are listed separately because knowing which four questions to ask is most of the value, and nobody sells you that.

The funnel, by stage

Count and open value at every stage of a pipeline, with the drop between stages beside it. A funnel that narrows sharply at one particular stage is telling you where the conversation actually fails — usually not where the team thinks it does.

What has stopped moving

Open records with nothing scheduled, ranked by how long they have been quiet and how much is on them. Each pipeline carries its own rotting threshold, so a ninety-day capital sale is not judged against a two-week reorder.

Who is carrying it

Open value, open count and won count by owner. Useful less for ranking people than for spotting the rep holding forty records nobody could realistically work, and the one holding four.

Won and lost, month by month

Value closed per month across the year, with average deal size and the time from creation to won. Group it by source or by pipeline to see which half of the business is actually growing.

Where the good ones came from

Split any measure by source, by owner, by company or by any field you added yourself. Import, referral, exhibition, inbound — whatever your sources actually are, since you named them.

Activity, not just outcome

Calls, meetings and emails logged per person per week. Outcome reports lag by a quarter; activity reports tell you this week whether the quarter is going to be a problem.

Forecast

What you can forecast today, and what you cannot.

A forecast is a promise made to a board, so this section is written more carefully than the rest of the page. Two things work now. Three do not, and are marked as such rather than implied.

SHIPPED

Weighted pipeline value

Every stage carries a probability, so the board shows both the raw open value and the value weighted by stage. Drag a record forward and both totals recompute in front of you — which is the moment most people realise the stage names were wrong.

SHIPPED

Expected close dates, and what missed them

Filter open records by expected close date and report on the ones already past it. That list, read weekly, does more for a quarter than any projection does — it is made of dates somebody typed rather than a curve fitted after the fact.

NOT SHIPPED

Goals per person and per team

A target set per assignee, pipeline and period, tracked by value or count against actuals. It is not in the product. You can report on actuals today and hold the target somewhere else, which is honestly what most teams do anyway.

NOT SHIPPED

A projected-revenue view

A dedicated forecast screen that projects revenue forward off close dates into future months. Not built. The weighted total and the close-date report are what exist, and we would rather you knew that before the board meeting than during it.

NOT SHIPPED

A public link to a dashboard

Sharing a live dashboard with someone who has no seat — an investor, an external director — through a read-only link. Not built. Dashboards are visible to members of the workspace, under the same role and record-level visibility rules as everything else.

NOT SHIPPED

A report that downloads as a file

A saved report cannot be exported as a file yet. What you can do, at any time and without a support ticket, is export the filtered list the report was built from, straight to Excel. It is a real gap and it is on this page rather than in a footnote.

Everything reporting carries

The rest of it, without the paragraphs.

The builder

  • Object — leads, contacts or companies
  • Measure — count, sum or average of a field
  • Grouping — owner, stage, source, company, date
  • Condition — narrow to the rows you mean
  • Save any result onto a dashboard

Chart types

  • Bar
  • Line
  • Area
  • Pie
  • Donut
  • Funnel

On the pipeline itself

  • Per-stage totals that recompute as you drag
  • Weighted value off the stage probability
  • Rotting alerts per pipeline threshold
  • Multiple pipelines, reported separately or together
  • Expected close date on every record

Who sees which numbers

  • Record-level visibility applies to reports too
  • A rep reporting on their own pipeline sees their own rows
  • A field hidden from a role is hidden in the report
  • Hidden records do not appear in search either
  • Exports are written to the audit trail

Getting the rows out

  • Any filtered list exports to Excel from inside the product
  • No support ticket, at any time
  • The whole workspace comes out through the REST API
  • Webhooks fire on record change for a warehouse to read
  • A saved report does not download as a file yet

Not built yet

  • Goals per person, team or pipeline
  • A projected-revenue forecast screen
  • A public share link for a dashboard
  • A report written for you from a plain-English question
  • Scheduled email delivery of a dashboard

Questions

About reporting specifically.

Do I need a separate BI tool?

For the four questions on this page, no. Pick an object, a measure, a grouping and a condition, choose one of six chart types and save it to a dashboard. If you need to model the numbers against data that is not in the CRM, export the filtered list or pull it through the API and do that work where the rest of your data already lives.

Can I download a report as a file?

Not the report itself — that is a real gap and we would rather write it here. The filtered list a report is built from exports to Excel from inside the product at any time, with no support ticket, and the whole workspace comes out through the API.

Is there a revenue forecast screen?

No. What exists is a weighted pipeline value computed from each stage probability, and the ability to report on open records against their expected close date. A dedicated projection view is not built, and we are not going to imply otherwise on a page a finance team might read.

Can I set targets for each salesperson?

Not in the product yet. You can report actuals by owner — open value, open count and won count — and hold the target elsewhere. Goals per assignee, pipeline and period are a known gap.

Will a rep see the whole team in a report?

Only if their role allows it. Record-level visibility applies to reports exactly as it does to lists and search: a rep reporting on open value sees their own rows, a manager sees the team. A field hidden from a role stays hidden inside the report too.

Can I share a dashboard with someone who has no seat?

No. Dashboards are visible inside the workspace, under the same roles and record-level visibility as everything else. There is no public read-only link. For an outside reader today, export the list and send that.

Can I ask for a report in plain English?

No. There is no AI report generator in Comsky CRM. Reports are built by choosing an object, a measure, a grouping and a condition, which takes about a minute once you have done it twice.

Where do the numbers come from?

From the records your team works in — the same leads, contacts and companies on the board, with the same field values and the same owner. There is no separate reporting database to load and nothing to refresh, so a report cannot disagree with the record it was built from.
