A name and a phone number is not a deal yet.
Every enquiry starts as a row somebody wrote down — on a pad at an exhibition, in a WhatsApp message, at the bottom of a forwarded email. It has to live somewhere that is not the pipeline, until somebody has spoken to them. Then it has to become a deal without being typed in again.

Demo data. The labels are set by a person, not by a scoring engine — Comsky CRM has no lead scoring, and this page says so again further down rather than letting the screenshot imply otherwise.
Five questions to ask of any lead system.
Including of this one. They are the questions that decide whether the top of your pipeline is real in a year, and none of them is about the colour of the board.
Does a raw enquiry have somewhere to sit?
A name and a phone number is not a deal. It needs a place to wait until somebody has actually spoken to them, or the board fills with rows that make the forecast meaningless.
Can you tell where it came from, six months later?
Source has to be a field on the record from the first minute, not something reconstructed from memory when somebody asks which exhibition was worth going to.
Does the follow-up survive the person forgetting?
Every lead needs a next activity with a date and a named owner. A lead with nothing scheduled is a lead nobody is working, whatever the board says.
Does the history survive qualification?
The email thread, the notes and the call log have to stay attached when the lead becomes a deal. Re-keying at the qualification step is where CRMs quietly start lying.
Can you get the list back out?
If the answer to "export our leads" is a support ticket, that is a decision about your data being made by somebody else. Any filtered list here exports to Excel from inside the product.
Four ways a lead gets in. And two that do not exist yet.
Most Indian sales teams are not short of enquiries; they are short of a single place the enquiries land. These are the routes that work today, written without the two everyone asks about next.
Import, with a preview step
Bring leads, contacts and companies in from a spreadsheet or from the CRM you are leaving. A preview shows exactly what will be created before a single row is written, so a bad column mapping is something you look at rather than something you undo. About five minutes.
The REST API
A published endpoint-by-endpoint reference you can read without signing up, and one API key per integration. Your own website form, your dealer portal or whatever your agency built can post a lead straight in. This is the route people actually use for web enquiries today.
From an email thread
Mail sends from your own address through the two-way Gmail or Outlook sync, and a thread attaches to the record it belongs to. A forwarded enquiry becomes a lead with its conversation already on it, rather than a lead plus a search of somebody’s inbox.
Typed in, on purpose
The exhibition pad, the phone call, the message a director got on WhatsApp. Adding a lead by hand is a first-class route, not a fallback — and it is the one that decides whether the source field is honest.
Web forms, chatbot, live chat
Not here yet. There is no embeddable form builder, no chatbot and no live chat widget in Comsky CRM. If you want a form on your site feeding the CRM today, it posts through the API. We would rather write this line than let you find out during the trial.
Enrichment from an outside source
Not here yet. Nothing looks a company up and fills in its size, industry or domain for you. Fields are filled by the person who spoke to them, which is slower and considerably more accurate.
A label, an owner, and a date. That is qualification.
Not a score out of a hundred computed from data nobody entered. A person decides the lead is worth working, puts their name on it and books the next conversation — and the system makes that hard to skip.
A workflow can assign an owner from a condition you write. What it cannot do is hand leads out in rotation across a team — there is no round-robin engine, and routing rules are conditions rather than a distribution policy. See how workflows are built →
It does not become a different record. It moves.
This is the part that matters and the part most products get wrong. In Comsky CRM the lead and the deal are one record. Qualifying it changes its stage — it does not copy it into a second object with half the history left behind.
The history comes with it
Every email thread you attached, every call and note, the open task and the source field. A record that qualifies on Tuesday still knows on Friday which exhibition it came from.
The board recomputes
Per-stage counts and totals update as the record lands, and so does the weighted figure. You can see the effect of the qualification on the number before you let go of it.
Nothing is left behind
There is no second object holding a stale copy of the same company, which is the usual reason two reports disagree about how many customers you have.
The rest of it, without the paragraphs.

About the top of the pipeline.
Is a lead a separate thing from a deal?
It is the same record at a different stage. An unqualified enquiry sits outside the pipeline until somebody has spoken to them; qualifying it moves it onto a stage. Nothing is copied into a second object, so the email threads, the notes, the open task and the source field all stay where they were.
Can a form on my website create a lead?
Through the API, yes — the reference is published endpoint by endpoint and you can read it without signing up, so your site or your agency can post straight in. What does not exist is a form builder inside the CRM that gives you an embed code. That is a real gap, not a configuration step.
Is there a chatbot or live chat?
No. Comsky CRM has no chatbot and no live chat widget. Comsky Chat is the product being built for web chat, WhatsApp and email in one inbox, and it is not released either. We are not going to sell you one product on the strength of another one that has not shipped.
Does it score leads automatically?
No. Labels are set by a person. There is no scoring model, no fit criteria engine and no ranking of which lead to work first. For most teams under fifty leads a week, a label and a next activity beat a score nobody trusts — but if you need scoring, you need it, and it is not here.
Can leads be shared out across the team automatically?
Partly. A workflow can assign an owner when a condition is met — by source, by state, by any field you added. What it cannot do is distribute in rotation, so a true round-robin across five reps is not something you can configure today.
What stops a lead being forgotten?
A next activity with a date and a named owner, a view of everything with nothing scheduled, and workflows that create the task rather than relying on somebody remembering to. The rotting threshold on a pipeline flags records that stop moving, and the chase goes to the owner rather than the whole team.
Can I get my leads back out?
Any filtered list exports to Excel from inside the product at any time, without asking support, and the whole workspace comes out through the API. After a subscription ends the data stays exportable for 30 days.
Where does the data sit?
On servers in India — records, attachments, backups and the search index. Every query is scoped to the workspace by the data layer rather than by the screen making the request, so a bug in one report cannot return another company’s rows.
